What is Powerlifting in this event?

Powerlifting is not an Olympic sport, but it’s globally recognized and regulated by a U.S. federal federation. It revolves around three core lifts known as SBD – Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. Each athlete gets three attempts per lift to achieve their best performance. The event sequence starts with Squats, followed by Bench Press, and ends with Deadlift. Among each class of 10 athletes, the top three qualify for podium positions and are awarded medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place – no trophies are given, keeping the focus purely on strength and performance.

Event Categories & Competition Format

BarLoaded Lahore 2025 features three main divisions: Junior (under 23 years), Master (above 35 years), and Open (all age groups). Each division is further divided into weight classes: 59–66 kg, 66–74 kg, 74–83 kg, 83–92 kg, 92–105 kg, 105–120 kg, and 120+ kg. Athletes compete within their category, ensuring fair and competitive matchups across all levels.

Every athlete begins their journey at the district level, moves up to provincial competitions such as Sindh, and after trials, qualifies to represent their province at the national stage. For example, Ali Bhai started in Karachi, won Sindh level, and now proudly represents Sindh at the national BarLoaded 2025 event.
